The office of Infinity Fitness was a small room, maybe the size of a home office. There were two desks in there, each facing one wall. They each had a chair, and a guest chair. One desk was covered in snacks and pre-workout drink mixes and funny little figurines, while the other was clean and covered in paperwork. As Sam led Nat into the room, she walked up to the clean table and sat down at it, booting up the laptop that sat there.
She knew that this wasn’t about to be a conversation about just the price of her gym membership, which was not seven hundred and twenty a year, but was in fact three hundred and sixty. A dollar a day, as she joked. No, this conversation was going to be a lot rougher than just that. Because Nat wasn’t going to let this go. Not when he thought she knew something about Cryptid.
Todd didn’t even know that she knew the truth. There was no way she was telling Nat of all people that Todd was Cryptid, that he ate people. Especially not when she didn’t have answers for it. All she knew was it must have been a biological need, with how many people he’d told her he’d killed. She knew Nat wouldn’t see it that way, though. Nat would just see a monster, wearing the skin of a friend.
With that in mind, she unlocked the laptop while Nat came in and waved a hand in his direction. “You can close the door. We’ll discuss this privately.”
