Pending Adrien Miller

Name: Adrien Miller

Alias: The Third Eye

Alignment: Leaning Good

Age: 22

Sex: Male

Gender: He/Him

Height: 6’0

Appearance: A light farmer’s tan with brown hair and green eyes.

Bio: There is something about leaving your old childhood home. No matter how you might feel about the location in Bumfuck, Ohio. Coal had been on its last legs when Adrien had been born, and as it took its last gasp and the people breathed, they started dropping like flies. As black lung claimed, the elderly and the adults left in the community tried to get their parents' killers back. Some left, others stayed.

They never accepted that coal would leave them permanently. So we pivoted to farming on the hills of Appalachia. My first memory of “work” was removing rocks and tree limbs. The sun had beaten Adrien, his siblings, and parents down. His father had developed his cough around that time. Some left, others stayed.

Early optimism turned to dust. As Adrien developed, so did his powers. That scared him as he connected with other people's minds. One word, one wrong word, was enough to set them off, but that wasn’t the worst thing. Illness hovered around my father, and this time, he had said nothing. More left, others stayed.

The “community” was dead as the town degenerated around them, and the opioid epidemic destroyed what was left. They talked about Pittsburgh instead. He had hidden himself away for so long he was surprised there could be “others”. He made up his mind that day he would leave. They all make a show about not giving up hope, but they know it too. Death hangs over my father he doesn’t need his abilities to see it. All he says to his parents and siblings is, “There is nothing left here for any of us.” He leaves, they stay.

Adrien knew his story wasn’t any different from others. The same circumstances played out in hundreds, maybe thousands, of townships across America and around the world. As his soon-to-be-sold car crossed into the city limits, he remembered what he had built himself so far. A small bookshop with an apartment above. A home next to the action as metas duked it out in the streets. A place where he could truly, finally become what might be his true self.

Powers:

Psionic Power:

Telepathy: Adrien, while having his powers since he was a teenager, has not practiced with his telepathy very often until just a few years ago. Forcibly suppressing the powers whenever he could. As such, he has never read a human mind developing the ability to the point that he can only get impressions. But the minds of animals can be fully read.

Telekinesis: Telekinesis blissfully wasn’t as invasive. While Adrien has practiced more with his telekinesis, he may be able to pick up an empty dumpster.

Psionic Potential: Adrien is now free of his hesitation to develop his powers, and however long it takes will develop them to his fullest extent.
