Name:
Freyja RagnarsdóttirGender:
Female (she/her)Age:
32Height:
6'0"Alignment:
Dark GrayScent Profile:
Woodsmoke, spice, paper. Wears perfume that smells like ginger, clove, nutmeg, and caramel. Appearance:
Freyja is a tall woman with long, pale blonde hair that she usually keeps in a braid. She has blue eyes and pale, lightly tanned skin. Her body is adorned with several tattoos, all of which have roots in Nordic mythology. Her attire varies wildly based on the occasion, ranging from simple workout gear to elegant dresses, but always allows at least some portion of her tattoos to be on display.Tattoos:
Jörmungandr, the world-eating snake, wraps around her arms and across her shoulders, his head on her right hand and his tail on her left. On her right bicep is a stylized wolf, Hati striding forward with fangs bared and claws outstretched as it chases after the golden sun on her shoulder. Her left arm is a silver mirror of the right, with a silvery Sköll and a crescent moon rather than a sun. On her back, the snake's coils wrap tightly around the hilt of an ornate, crimson-tinged sword, the cross-guard of Surtr’s blade sitting across her shoulders and the blade following the line of her spine to pierce a shadowed, fractured Earth. Abilities:
Freyja on her own exhibits few metahuman characteristics. While she does boast impressive strength, speed, and overall fitness, this is moreso due to the intense physical training she undergoes rather than any latent ability. Her only distinct trait is her increased core body temperature, which leaves her skin feeling feverish at all times. While she is able to call upon some powers to amplify her own physical traits, these are a crutch that she'd rather not use in the first place.Veljara
The herald of the end. The chooser of the slain. The bringer of Ragnarök.
Veljara is a flame-drenched valkyrie hell-bent on bringing about Ragnarök, the end of the world. A winged spirit of fire and vengeance, she towers above battlefields at well over 2 meters tall. What skin is visible beneath her battered armor looks ashen, soot-stained by her own fires. Wings spread behind her, each feather a spark capable of birthing a raging inferno. Smoke rolls off them with each beat, carrying with it the scent of rust, decay, and burnt sugar. Crimson hair spills out of her helm, caught somewhere between flowing locks and flickering flame as it licks the air and singes those who make a grab for it.
Her helm itself is a simple affair, open-faced and horned. The horns are covered in beads of molten metal, as though forming new growths to hold the power that its wearer wields. Despite a lack of facial protection, no features are visible beneath Veljara's helm save for two glowing eyes, maelstroms of flame and anger spilling through metallic sockets and spitting sparks in her wake. She kills with blades of obsidian and ash, wielding the white-hot flames of Muspelheim when simple weapons are too restricting.
Her lust for battle knows no bounds. Her hatred for humanity runs unfathomably deep. One thing remains certain; Veljara will bring about the end of the world, or die trying.
Veljara takes the form of a flaming valkyrie, transforming with as little or as much spectacle as she wants. Her appearance remains consistent through her transformations, with any additional features or wear carrying over into her subsequent transformations. Given enough time with a host, the lines between mortal and valkyrie may begin to blur, with the mortal form adopting traits of the valkyrie.
A source of constant heat and flame, Veljara is able to generate fire at will and wield it as a weapon. As a side effect, she is also immune to the effects of fire and extreme heat.
Veljara is innately stronger than most, able to lift and throw a car with some effort. Her reflexes are remarkably sharp, forged in untold centuries of battle. While she cannot dodge modern-day firearms, she can catch or deflect most other projctiles provided her attention isn't too preoccupied. She is also proficient with many forms of medieval weaponry, heavily preferring melee weapons, and is able to summon and dismiss them at will.
Veljara can summon fiery, zombie-like undead known as draugr. They are mindless and have only one goal: to kill. Any who fall by a draugr's hand, be it claw or fang, swell their ranks further. The number of draugr Veljara can summon at any one time are entirely up to her, although the more she has present, the more strain it puts on her other fire-wielding abilities.
