She eventually married a mayor; it was a marriage of convenience. It made the politician look good to have a family, and Megan would be provided for. Her stepfather used her to take bribes and pay bribes without her knowledge. When she started pursuing music as a career, he pushed a record label to sign her so he could use her tour to smuggle or transport bribes.
Her single Dream of Your Sunshine was topping the charts. Her Sunshine Dreams Tour was sold out. She was flying into Pittsburgh for the next stop on her tour, but her plane was shot down, killing everyone on board. The last thing she ever did alive was to post a selfie with the plane’s window in the background, showing the Pittsburgh skyline, which also showed the surface-to-air missile that shot the plane down.
Neither her body nor her signature ruby heart pendant was ever recovered. Her ruby heart pendant broke into pieces as she died. Unleashing the Curse of the Undying, an ancient curse whose origin and very existence are unknown to most. It took several years for the pieces of her body to be gathered and put back together. All the while, Megan was unconscious. After her body was ultimately restored, she regained consciousness. The last thing she remembered was posting the selfie from the plane. She has no clue how she arrived in a field just outside Pittsburgh, why she is naked, or why her skin is so different.
